List of Baby Stuff Baby's list

So, you’re gonna be a first time mama. It’s exciting but not all of us know where to begin. The baby is on the way in a few months and you don’t know what you exactly need. I, for one, didn’t wanted to go for shopping in my last trimester mainly because of horrible back ache and of course I wanted to conserve my energy. Yeah, I know. It doesn’t work like that. But see, I didn’t knew it then. However, shopping beforehand did helped as we had everything when needed. It took me some research to identify what was needed during pregnancy and in the first few months after baby’s birth. Thank God!!! Some really good friends and internet was there to help me make a List for Baby items. Now, that I have a house full of tiny creatures, here are my top picks that made the whole journey easier for me:

1. Baby Wipes

May that soul be blessed that thought of baby wipes. As a new mama, I couldn’t have survived thosebaby wipes troublesome nights and draining days without baby wipes. How so and Why Baby wipes? They are not just for tushy cleaning. You can use them to freshen up yours and babies face quickly. Those smelly pukes and spits, smelly diapers, general cleaning of crib and baby cleaning station (I still use them even for my general furniture cleaning), cleaning surfaces in markets and restaurants). Messed up your makeup, baby wipes. I mean, you name it, and baby wipes are there to clean it.

They are still an essential accessory for me even If I am stepping out alone. However, in the first few months, you are going to need a ton of them. Buy them on bulk bargain and save a fortune. I recommend going for unscented water wipes and also those that say hypoallergenic.

2. Nursery and Diaper CaddyNursery Organizer for mama baby wipes

As the baby comes along, space is always going to be an issue as you are going to need everything organised and conveniently placed specially during those early months. Having our nursing station and changing station at designated place certainly made the two most important processes smoother. We had nursery and changing caddy in two locations which was really handy for us. Go for something that can fix on a crib, changing table and can even be placed in a living room. This diaper organiser plus storage unit can make moms life easy and you would not have to look for stuff all the time while the baby is crying her heart out.

3. Baby Bibs

Bibs for babies are just a necessity like diapers in the early months. From mild spits to spills, they are needed for Baby Bandana Drool Bibseverything. Let’s not forget the never ending drooling when the poor thing is teething. Their mouths need constant cleaning to avoid rashes. We went for something that specially helped in teething process. And guess, what we found: drool bibs with teething toys. YOU KNOW RIGHT!!! Got around half a dozen and washed them twice a week with antibacterial detergent. Voila. Life saver right? No need to worry about tethers dropping on the floor and getting dirty. Also, it makes a really nice gift for the new moms. Word of advice: Easy bibs are the best to put on and adjust so always look for those with adjustable snaps.

4. Baby Dome / Carrier

Since I was a working mama (who was also stay-at-home mama), we needed something that would keep the baby Fisher-Price On-the-Go Baby Domesafely placed near me. After going through several options, I went for Fisherprice on-the-go baby dome. My babies took nap in it, stayed in it while playing with their toys and even when they were out in the sun. yes, we even took this dome to the parks as it has a canopy as well. It folds flat and literally took little or no car space. Also, having something like that made our vacations or visits to relatives more enjoyable. I used to hang a music playing toy in it, that would just keep my lil one occupied for a pretty decent time, while mama had a deadline to meet. This can be a good alternative for a crib for the first few months when your baby outgrows the dome.

5. Shopping Cart HammockBINXY BABY Shopping Cart Hammock

Well a simple stroller will do. But on those long shopping trips especially monthly grocery shopping, space was an issue for us. Especially after our second boy came along, it was difficult to stuff two strollers in our car. We went for a shopping cart hammock. Man, it was so easy to put the baby in without having a worry to carry baby bag or take care of a separate stroller especially when your partner is not there to help you. Have got Shopping Cart Cover for Baby or Toddlera lot of “aawweess” during those shopping trips. Baby hammock is a great little investment for moms if you want to go to shopping alone or when you have multiple kids to look after.

My heart sank when my little one slept in the stroller uncomfortably. If you foresee having this problem go for a hammock for baby or a shopping cart cover.

I have even gifted it to some of my friends too.

6. Hatch Rest Sound Machine, Night Light and Time-to-Rise

This is a convenient accessory in my List for Baby items. After arrival of my triplets, things got really tough. I was literally running on no sleep and was at the verge of Hatch Baby Rest Machine for mamabreakdown. Since we only had one room for the triplets where I was sleeping too, babies kept on getting up at random times and of course disturbing each other. One of my mama friends recommended getting a white-noise machine and this is when I got my hands on this one. The machine came with multiple white noise settings and also night light shades. It was easily controlled manually and via mobile app. It took sometime but the girls finally understood the concept of sleeping sound and light.

7. Baby Seat / Car Seat or a SwingFisher-Price Deluxe Sit-Me-Up for mama

I am a working mama. So, I needed something that could take care of my rolling baby while working. Once my first baby started supporting his head (and of course when it was time for me to resume work), we needed a baby seat. Something that would offer good leg position and support, flat sitting surface and chest level arm support. After going through several reviews online and also through physical visits. I went for Fisher Price Sit Me Up. It was detachable, washable, sturdy Graco Simple Sway Baby Swing for mamathough light weight and also comes with toys for baby’s entertainment. Fisher Price pays a lot of attention to ergonomics so this was the right selection for us and would definitely work for other moms.

Whether to buy a baby seat or a baby swing depends on your preference, my advice after giving birth to five babies is to get a baby seat or chair rather than a swing. My reason for preferring one over other is simple; if your baby gets used to swing or vibrations or music, it would always need these gadgets to go to sleep. It is advisable to not make this a habit for these little people, as getting them off such habits becomes difficult.

Graco 4Ever DLX 4 in 1 Car SeatOn a separate note baby car seat is also an essential, we’ll cover that range in a separate article. Although, if you are looking for one you should definitely check this one out as it made my life easier and was easy to setup and comfortable for the baby. This List for Baby items for moms is not complete without a car seat.

8. GUND Animated Toy Elephant

Not a must-have on my List for Baby items, although we saw this and my God, it was so cute and a must have for me. Just had to get it. Because who doesn’t like a Baby GUND Animated Flappy the Elephant for mamasinging elephant. The size is just right for your toddler. It keeps them engaged for quite sometime. They can snuggle it whenever they like. And while you are working and the baby is near you, you can just pinch the toy and it starts singing and flapping its ears. More than the baby, I guess it was for mama.
