1. Sceptre 24″ Curved Monitor (C248W-1920RN)

In this budget range, this monitor is a great choice especially if you are into curved screens. We know they don’t Sceptre 24" Curved Monitor go together but it’s a sturdy light weight monitor if you can mount it right. You can use it for hours to work and stream videos with a great picture quality, crisp brightness and contrast. We are not big fans of speakers built within monitors as they rarely give out great sound. So, it was not a surprise when this monitor also produced awful sound. In our experience it was pretty easy to setup and a refresh rate of 75Hz gave us a good experience. However, its menus can be more user friendly and the power cord can be longer. Sceptre claims that the model is edgeless but we found a black border running along the whole screen.

2. Acer 23.8-Inch (R240HY bidx)Acer 23.8-Inch Monitor R240HY

Acer brand has offered some great computer accessories including monitors. I remember back in the old days I had a box monitor from acer and worked wonders for many years. The brand has come a long way since then and offers great laptops and monitors (high end and budget). This flat LCD monitor is a steal in this price if you prefer flat monitors over curved ones. It has a great response time, sturdy built quality, good IPS lighting and a thin bezel which goes in its favor. However, we feel that features provided by competitors are superior to Acer with the standard 60Hz refresh rate and just good picture quality.

Type LCD – Flat

3. ASUS 24″ Monitor (VS248H-P)ASUS 24" Monitor (VS248H-P)

The response rate of 2ms is pretty nifty and the monitor delivers crisp picture quality with above average contrast and sharpness. It has a thin bevel and a great refresh rate. However, the viewing angle and changing head position can distort color accuracy. After plugging in our HDMI cable, it gave us some flickering issues. The specs for this monitor are great and ASUS is a well-regarded brand in this space. However, the build quality was not very convincing compared to similar monitors in this range.

4. BenQ 24″ Monitor (GW2480)BenQ 24" Monitor (GW2480)

We like the eye care tech and thin bezels on this monitor. BenQ is not very well known in the US but it’s a reliable brand in Asia and some parts of Europe. Its refresh rate is standard but viewing angels are pretty impressive in this price. We found menus very complicated and colors are a bit dull as expected. Speakers produce substandard sound but that’s pretty much established throughout this article. Build quality is very good and sturdy and picture quality is also good in our opinion.

Screen size 23.8”
Type LED – Flat
Resolution 1920×1080 pixels

5. ViewSonic 22″ (VA2246MH-LED)ViewSonic 22" Monitor

Viewsonic has been manufacturing great monitors for a long time now. The brand is well known for some great models and this monitor is also pretty good. For under $150 you can get a monitor with good picture and above average build quality. It has built-in speakers, of course they don’t sound very good. As long as I can remember ViewSonic monitors have had an issue with their buttons on the panel, they’ve always been very small and stop working after a while and you end up pushing all your weight on them to work and they don’t. Anyway, this is a great buy for those who are looking for great deal.

Screen size 22”
Type LED Lit – Flat
Resolution 1920×1080 pixels
Refresh Rate 60Hz
